Law and order.

The natural history Meuseium or the dead zoo.

A huge mural down at Smithfield look at the cars
Over the last few days the law once more proved itself that it is a complete ass.
A girl from Brazil arrived to visit her host family in Galway, she had stayed them a few years previously as an au pair and was looking forward to seeing the kids again.
The immigration questioned her up closely and they rang her host family in Galway who told them that she was expected.
Then she was arrested, brought to the womans prison, strip searched and held overnight.
Her cellmate was a drug addict and alcoholic and was getting sick into the sink in the cell which they shared.
She asked for a drink of water and was told to take her drink from the vomit covered sink and tap.

Now people from Brazil can come to visit for 90 days without a visa anyhow.
She was so traumatized by her treatment that she got on a plane and went away.

A Spanish girl met a homeless guy and it is alleged that he took her for a walk around the city
He was out on parole for another crime at the time.
It is said that he raped her and held her captive over a 24 hour period.
Only when he fell asleep did she manage to make her escape.
He was arrested and then he was let out on bail !!!!!!!!!
Even though he had broken the terms of his parole.

But today he is back in court and we can all sleep safely in our beds.

Well my old taxi is off the road while I jump through hoops to have the new car passed out as a taxi.
So I am resting until tomorrow until I apply to have the new car passed out.
After you have your car NCT'd you have to wait 48 hours so that a record appears on the "System"
Now the building where they do the testing is the exact same building as the one where all the other paperwork is done.
Its a bit maddening to say the least.

The airwaves were full of the exploits of Rosemary Smith the 79 year old rally driver.
You see she got the chance to drive a formula 1 racing car and she jumped at it.
I must say that my Ferrari drive was great 180 mph!, but the car hugs the road so well that you feel like you are doing only 80.
The sad part of the day came when they told me that I couldn't take it home.

Here is the clip of her drive

Technology me arse

Vintage taxi meter

Never a truer word spoken

Big brother is still watching us. Google camera.

Every now and then you come on something new..Good? Bad?
Well everything has both.
Mobile phones Great. But people have forgotten the real world and text and spend time on facebook while all the time little Sarah or Johnny are trying to tell them something really important.
Like "Mum your going to crash"

So it is with "Proximity key."
You walk up to the car and put your hand on the handle and it unlocks, then you press the power button and away you go.
The first time I heard of it was from a guy who lived in California, "Over there all cars are all high end cars.So I bought a second hand Ferrari. Wow Look at me"
So I was driving around like a big shot.
I got a phone call as I was walking up to my car and I put the keys and my coffee on the roof of the car. It was very a important call. I had to zoom off and lifting the coffee from the roof I just zoomed off.. Not for long though before my car told me to pull over as it was shutting down.
The bloody keys were on the roof...... Towing charges $500, New key $3000
This is the price you pay for being a dunce.
A Concierge at a swanky hotel delivered the car to its owner.
5 miles down the road he pulls in to get a drink.
The car won't start the asshole at the hotel has the key in his pocket.
A taxi is called (Which is on the hotel tab) to deliver the key to him.

I now have a new car with one proximity key....The second key will cost me €480
This is the price of progress.
Plenty of scope for error, still its a great car.
We worry about how progress will catch us out, people with fancy gizmos copying our key signals in multi story car parks.
God be with the days when the key had a number and it could be cut in a few minutes..
The past is great its 20 20 vision

So for myself I have to redo my NCT its not out of date for 18 months  but for a taxi its a week out of date.
Then they have to check the meter, then my first aid kit and fire extinguishers etc,,
As sure asTechnology as God made little apples I will check my taxi app in a few weeks to find that 2 of the cars in front of me in the queue will be illegal when I check them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Folks against the bank

There is some good news in the housing sector.
Visit the HUB and ask for advice with your property loans.
Banks have been treating the ordinary people very badly,
banks on the other side deserve a good kick in the backside.
They gave 110% loans to buy houses then they gave them loans to buy new cars as well.
Nothing was ever stress tested...How could anyone on an income ever pay back the money?
My dad threw a fit when I borrowed £600 to buy a car once.
How much did you borrow?
What was the interest rate 6% ?
So you are paying back X per month over 3 years...That works out at 40%
Go back down to the bank and tell them that they are wrong.

So that kind bank manager explained that £600 +£228 interest divided by 36 gives you X per month for 36 months.
No I said. From day one I don't owe you three years interest, then when I make a payment I don't owe the balance of £600. The interest should be on the balance and calculated monthly.

What will you do about it?
I'll phone Gay Byrne and write into the Anglo Celt.

Bingo! He said I'll give you a term loan.... A big difference.

Another big thing which is coming home to roost is the "Seniors Money" They gave granny a loan on the equity on her house, off she went on a cruise, she lived well and then the banks finished up owning the house...Compound interest is a tough one. Someone should have given her money on a written agreement that the family inherit the home on her death.

So if you can live within your means.

Click on this

Then the Garda will deny your basic rights

But visit the Hub and they will explain your rights to you.
The freedom of information means that the bank must produce their figures on your loan.
One business man in Kerry was facing repossesion for a €30,000 outstanding on his loan
He got the banks figures under the freedom of information act and in court he pointed out to the judge how the banks had massaged his interest up and down through the term of the loan.
Fair play to the judge he calculated that the bank had swindled the man out of at least €30,000
So he awarded the man €90,000 in compensation

You and I have paid off the debts of the banks to the tune of billions.
No one went to jail for 40 years.
I leave you with this Limerick man in Canada from long ago.

A downhill slope

Lucy driving her first taxi

Did you say you wanted a TAP?

Tractor driving school? Why not

Well I am really on holiday now, getting my meter taken out. Then getting it put into the new car.
The car has to be wrapped in the new mytaxi company logo.
Then the guys from legal meteorology will inspect the work and pass me out with their blessing for work.
Its just a big paper chase, but it has to be done.
So I went into town to have my hair cut. 5 guys waiting there and only one mans barber working, so I decamped to Clearys bar on Aimiens St.
At the door of the pub I spotted a woman who had frozen in time!!!!!!!!!
Just standing there her two bags of shopping on the ground. One bag had spilled a bit,it was like in a movie frozen. Nothing was happening the video had stopped.
People passed by.
Then a woman came over and woke her up and helped her with her bags.
I said to a man in the door of the pub.
"If my dog was as disturbed as that woman is I would have it put down to ease its pain"

So folks its time for a little bit of education.

You think you have drugs? Wait until Crystal Meth comes.

A story of an addict..

To tip or say thank you

The new car park in Eindhoven which collapsed

The tractor driving school and why not

Prakis DIY store Taps ans more Taps

There is never a best time to do something  that you have not planned for.
So we visited our brother in law in Einddhoven Holland.
I had not planned to change my car when the flights were booked a month ago.
Were you ever there?
Things work well.
Things work very well.
Much of the country is under sea level, they have dams and canals to hold the water.
The last time I was there Paris was flooded and everywhere in Holland showed no panic.

Go to Dublin port on Friday morning to see truck after truck come off the ferry's bringing flowers to Ireland.
Can't we even grow a few flowers?
The people in Holland are slimmer than the Irish and the youth are nearly all over 6ft.tall.

In Eindhoven airport they built a new multi story car car park and it collapsed.

Just as well it wasn't a dam.

In the scale of things things you never can tell.
You pick the quickest route by 20 mins and the customer says.
"That way was longer"
Though it was 20 minutes shorter.

If we could rewind the clock and have her sitting in static traffic how would she be then?.

When push comes to shove.
"Just put the €100 into my hand now and I will do my best"

I am just pissed off driving for losers.

That sounds hard.
But none of those punters would pay your speeding ticket,
They often get out at T2 and wait for 20c change.

Not all though, which is the catch.

€100,000,000

The original Smart car or Bubble car as it was then

Clontarf Rd where they put in a super cycle track in front of the bus shelter. The bikes could kill you.

Fire drill at Beaumount hospital

Outside the clinic at the 5 lamps, somewhere dry to sleep
She was looking the other way, I slowed down, then as I was passing she shouted "Taxi"
On a Thursday taxis are needed to bring recipients to post offices to get payments. It used to be called "Dole money" as it was dispensed or doled out like in a soup kitchen. Last week it was a young couple living in a tent on Sandymount strand. This week it was her.
You pass junkies and homeless people every day in Dublins fair city, She had only one eye and for sure she had lived through hard times. She had a special needs child of her own and a niece who is quite badly handicapped. We saw the niece as we reached her destination. She said that her sister abandoned the child at birth and the child was being reared by the grandmother with no help from the state.
I told her about a junkie with a really bright kid of around 4 who I thought had done a runner, as I moved to drive away he came back out of the shop. "What d fuck are you at mate? Im not dishonest, I wouldn't rob you. I'm just sick".
Then he paid me with a  €2tip

If that Euromillions prize of last night was mine I know where most of it would go.
Fr. McVerry and Sister Stan would smile.

Mytaxi sold us a new credit card reader, it works really well, swipes and tap and go etc.
I had a Polish girl in the taxi yesterday and she was about to pay by card and then suddenly she suspected that this was a fraud ! So she kept me waiting while she went into a shop, got cash and then was surprised when the bill was 60c more. As if a big company would produce dodgy equipment.
By the way I got a new cash card the other day and as you remember you have to go to a bank link to start it off and change the code. Well you have the option to allow the touch and go or not.
Why would anyone be foolish enough have the ability on their card to use it without a pin?

One guy with a good banking job woke up for work 2 hours late., As an intern i the bank they had  gone out to celebrate the mid summer and at 3 AM they went to Coppers.
He didn't have his fone on charge and it was dead, so it didn't alarm.
Boys oh boys the smell of drink of him nearly had me drunk when we arrived in Ballsbridge.
I cannot imagine a Polish worker doing that.
The young guy he should learn over the next 10 years....I hope.

From today I am in the process of changing my car,
Meter out Meter in
Wrapper stripped off
New car wrapped
Then have the car passed out and rubber stamped.
2 weeks holiday??????????

Rickshaws have no such problems, no road tax, no insurance, no public liability insurance, no income tax..No worries.

Cowboys

A group of Harley fans on a tour with a super truck as backup

Part of the old family tree with most of the horse rustlers and chicken sealers included.

Thats me in the middle, surrounded by taxis!

The Yellow Pages I said, I got him from the yellow pages.
"That is the biggest comic book in the world he said,
what do you mean? I said
If you're looking for cowboys that book is full of them.

If you want anything done you ask around to find someone who had work done recently and you ask if they were happy, then you go with it.
Not the Yellow Pages.

There was a giant fire in London and the tower block had toxic flammable cladding on its exterior.
When it ignited the flames and fumes were sucked into the stairwell making escape futile.
The company who installed the cladding went out of business during its installation and went bankrupt. They never paid the £1/2 million for the materials.
He then re opened under a different company name and finished the job.

I am still working away and I will be changing my car in the coming weeks, then to do the big tax return and then I will put more time into that damn book.

A poor sick girl from Brazil got into my taxi today she was going to Blancerdstown, just starting her days work when she bought a bread roll with some strange filling in it.
Poor thing loosing a days pay and then she is having to pay for a taxi home.
Three times we had to stop before she spewed it all out.
I knocked €5 off the fair.
As she reached her house she told me that her landlord lived in the house with them and he often says that his house was quiet and peaceful before they came now every day is full of laughter and noise with people coming and going every day.
Like winter compared to a wonderful summers day.

What a wonderful happy optimistic girl.

https://www.facebook.com/Ban-Rickshaws-inDublin-719754131529552/

Like it and ban the rickshaw..
In this collision the taxi driver will never be paid.
If anyone was injured they would get nothing as well.

Another day

A Ghost bike, when a cyclist is killed a ghost bike appears and their details appear on the website

Georgian Dublin

The charges for hiring the Dublin bikes.

I just came across this click here and I found that Dublin corporation had removed a ghost bicycle under the abandoned bicycle scheme..It a kinda defeats the purpose.

Fire safety is something that you never take a chance with, smoke detectors fire alarms sprinkler systems and fire hoses you would think would be a priority.  Never take it for granted my friend. If you see escape routes blocked and short comings leave and make a phone call the next day.
That insulation that they insulate buildings with I would have assumed would have fire retardant built in, after all the plastic substance for the insulation gives off a really toxic smoke.
So a block of apartments goes up in London and it goes up in flames like a match.
Say a prayer for the dead and the bereaved.
Everyone lost all their possessions.
Say a prayer for them all.

In the rest of the world we had Blooms day from the book Ulysses written by James Joyce.
A great day to be free with a straw hat.

A girl jumped into my taxi today and at journeys end she told me that this taxi ride was the best one she had ever had.
She has been in Ireland for more than 10 years.
From Latvia she arrived here like so many, her heart full of hope and her dreams to become reality.
You know what ?
I think she is getting there.

Just a thought for a great girl far from home

Just one word from father Ted

This is a drill bit for sinking Piles for building tall buildings
Before Christmas I picked up a Phillipina girl going towards town.
Some journeys begin and end with a destination, other journeys last for years with repeated contact.
She told me that she was between jobs and that she was here illegally and that her brother and sister had demanded that she send them €1,000 for Christmas.
I nearly clipped another car as I was so distracted with anger.
She gave me some flyers as she was getting out and I asked another Phillipina girl that I know to help her.
Just last week I remembered her when I found her flyer in the car and I rang her.
My friend as it turned out was a friend of hers as well and she had supported her through that bad time.
Now she is in a good place and her ( Who was my friend as well)  friend rang me to explain what was happening.

Europe,America and all foreign destinations become a Shangrila for the fortune hunters.
You just have to pluck money from the trees, as easy as that.
My girl told me that she asked them to send her for €500 as she had no job!!!
This shut them up quick.
Both these girls are wonderful warm gentle people.
They are sacrificing their youth to help the folks back home.
The girl that I helped rang me back later.
"John are you OK yourself ?
Why did you ring me out of the blue like that?"

So she was clued in as to the unusual nature of the phone call.
A really bright caring girl.

Now here is a con of huge proportions

Exam time

A Barrell organ in Holland

A Lion at Clontarf Castle

Smithfield

Today the state exams begin for our pupils, Ie Bac. in France and GCSEs in Britain.
Keep your cool kids,if you are relaxed the information will come to you more easily.

But exams are a bad way of measuring peoples ability.
If you fail at exams it doesn't show that you are not a quick thinking intelligent person with great potential.
This may not be your year or your subject.
Hang in there, start your own business. Become a millionaire.
A guy called Guy Martin in the UK was told by his teacher that he was stupid and that he never would amount to much.
The teachers name was J.D.Weatherspoon.
Every pub Mr Martin opens bears that teachers name and his sales are in the millions.

In the taxi business things are lifting a bit, a little bit more work.
I have my formula to follow so I have no complaints.

I asked that you say a prayer to your various Gods for Timothy Harte aged 11 who was going for a bone marrow transplant.
He had Leukemia the poor kid.

The Great news is that the transplant worked and all the new blood cells are now from the donor marrow.
Thanks for all the prayers , we all wish him a wonderful summer.
Your health is something we take for granted until it goes wrong.

Kids are great but tricky, my wife's spare key went missing so she has no key of her own.
She went to visit the grandchildren in Northern Ireland last week and I got a phone call that she couldn't open the door of the car. What should she do?
I talked her through what the problem might be to no avail.
So I drove up (Return trip 420 Kms)
I opened the car with the valet key, everything was dead.
A battery charger was connected, after an hour. Still nothing.
A jump start was required, but as the cars were at an aqard angle 2 sets of jump leads were needed.
With a flash she sperung into life.
So I drove her car home.
On the way home as it got darker I noticed that all the internal lights had been turned on.
Lucy my granddaughter had turned them on.
But in my car when you lock the car all the lights turn off.

So as they say in China "Shit happens"

Manx radio comes in on my car radio and all this week the TT races are broadcast

Sadly as I came home tonight on the radio they reported the death of an Irish  rider from Co.Meath.

mad men for sure
One millimeter wrong and you are gone at 180 mph.

A tidy mind

Every day they change the floral display in the Westbury hotel

The boy is back in town. Returned after his last strike by a truck.

The latest all electric vehicle to hit Dublins streets.

An American lady was ringing her husband on Grafton St
"I am a bit lost honey I am standing beside a statue of Michael Jackson on Grafton St,"

So here I am with a very tidy wife.
You go out and when you come back everything has been put away.
Where it goes is a mystery but my bank cards and credit cards have gone...
I need to make a payment to someone of around €6,000 but my card is gone!!!!!
So I should have got an office for sure.
The Garda commissioner has lost her fone too, there are investigations into her telephone activity but the fone is gone..
If you find it
HIDE IT.

Cruise ships are arriving into Dublin port every day, some with as many as 5,000 passengers.
It is rip off central at the port with some guys scamming the visitors.
I reckon that there is enough honest work around on the streets.
Some guys work the airport where they rob as well.
Why would anyone scam someone like that?
It only kills the business for everyone.

Go to New York and it is a fixed fare to Manhattan.
In Athens and Manchester you pay for your taxi in an office and you give the voucher to the driver.
Why?
To make the driver honest.

BA had a huge computer melt down last weekend and I had a wonderful Japanese girl going to London then to Tokyo, I really hope she made it.
If you are stuck in Dublin, be quick....Jump on the high speed ferry.. then by train to London.
In many cases quicker than a plane to make that connection,

HailO has now become Mytaxi which is owned by Mercedes Benz,
Its like they promised us a super duper service and gave us a 1960's Skoda

Really its not working, for drivers or passengers. Very sad indeed

This is far far worse.
A young girl was neglected in her home. Her mother was alcoholic and would abandon the house for days, locking her daughter in her room.
She was rescued by a neighbor and brought to the attention of the powers that be.

It was alleged that she was being sexually abused by 6 men..(A child)
Garda interrogated her without a psychiatrist or child care worker being present.

How could a child answer questions from Garda who themselves had not been trained in child care .

The court case collapsed and they walked..
If it was only in my world this would not happen.

On a lighter note here is Philo.
They are making a film about his life.

Be careful for what you wish.

In Portabello, lunch special

Mama Mia

Strolling through Ulysses

To celebrate our birthdays my wife and I went for an Italian meal and then to a performance of "Strolling through Ulysses"
In the cellar of the Stags Head pub. (Every Sunday 1.30 and 5.30)
Its really good one man show if you have ever tried to read the book.

Sometimes you wish
That things would be better
That it might stop raining
That you might win the €115.million on the Euromillions draw.
Then you see something that makes you thank God that things are as it is at present.

I have a friend who is Muslim and she says to me "Be careful for what you wish for John, you are the happiest person I know. If Allah gave you the lottery. The devil would take away all your happiness.
For every moment of happiness their is a equal moment of pain"

Some friend she is !

This morning I stopped to pick up a young French girl with a walking stick.
God but she was on her last legs, fighting not to go into a wheelchair and very delicate.
Her limbs had splints on which I presume were to prevent her bones from snapping.
On arrived at her stop I told her to stay where she was so that I could help her out.
She stood up and as I closed the door she nearly fell right over on to her back.
But I had her and I walked her to her front door.
Guys if you saw her, such a wonderful gentle and beautiful person.

Why don't the scumbags and pedophiles of this world get sick?

This world has no logic or justice for sure.

It would be great to have the ability to change it all.
as the guy said "To change the world you start in your own corner and work outwards,"

This weekend we had Africa day, where the country's which make up the continent get together to show Ireland their richness of culture.
Then we had "The battle of the bay" on Dollymount strand, all kinds of kite surfing, volleyball and loads of other beach activities.

Boys and girls on Hailo, the world has shifted and we are now Mytaxi!!!!!

Something which was great has been replaced by something much much worse.

They are spending hundreds of thousands to say that HailO is now Mytaxi
Yet for the drivers it is crap and for the public it is also crap.
You can't order a 6 seater cab, you don't know if there are many free cabs around before you order one, the drivers are being offered a job as far as 12 Kms away !
Then when you take a job other jobs keep coming in.
When that job is finished and you you are on and log off they tell you that they have suspended you from duty as you have refused too many jobs.

Worst thing of all is that there is no one to listen, "send in an Email" and when you do no one listens to you, or you get a standard reply 2 weeks later.

So my friends there other apps and we will scour the streets before we pay 12%of our money to keep the deaf giant alive.

A fan of the blog was in the taxi the other day.
You are Dublintaxi blog !!!!!!!
"Why didn't you come to the Blog Awards?" He implied that I had won a prize.
Well for myself it is only a way of letting off steam, I don't do awards..

Hate

Hate is such an evil thing.
Strapping a bomb to your child and sending them into a crowded market to maim and kill other people is so evil that it is outside understanding.

Yet not long ago our IRA were bombing innocent people on the British mainland.

Killing innocent children is the lowest of the low.
My God this is not right on any level.

Evil breeds evil

Naked in Dublin

Support for a wind turbine

Great name for a cafe, wrong place Its gone

Department of education

A few weeks ago a woman was spotted walking naked through the streets of Dublin.
Click here to read more and then have a think.
A woman having a complete mental breakdown, CCTV footage collected by the police put up on social media. I understand that she was beaten and assaulted as she was being taken away.
She was sectioned and had mental as well as addiction problems.
Guess what ?
That footage of her arrest was put up as well.

Have people lost all sense of what is right or completely wrong?.

The poor girl was sectioned under the mental health act and killed herself a few days later after her release.
They said that she was so disturbed that they could not deal with her case.
Wow...That is really bad news.

The Garda concerned denies any wrong doing.

Police need more training in how to deal with mental health issues.
Properly trained negotiators need to be around and available to help the people who are standing on the ledge.

Prince Charles

A really old Volks and Holland

This morning the traffic was very bad, so bad that I gave up and came home.
Prince Charles and Camilla are in Dublin, the weather is great for it too.

There used to be  joke that Britain would join the € when Charles would be king
Which would be never.

Last Sunday I went from Northwood near the airport to Dublin Zoo.
When we arrived there I said to my passenger "Say hello to my relations in there"
Do you mean the monkeys? he said.
"If a cleric overheard you saying that in my country you would be executed by sword"
Lucky I didn't ask him if he was visiting his own relatives.
Saudi Arabia is ruled by a very strict clerical sect.
A woman can be arrested for driving a car, you are stoned to death for committing adultery.
Two Dublin woman talking at the bus stop.
"Did ya hear that you can be stoned to death for committing adultery?"

"Be Jases  if they brought that in here we'd run out of stones,"

Bob Dylan is here tonight so business is good.

A special weekend

This weekend thousands of people will run from the darkness into the light.
Have a click here and join them.
Suaside  is a waste of a life for sure.
If the person who killed themselves reflected for an instant how it would effect the ones left behind they would never ever end their own flives.

On a lighter note if you are killing yourself you are probably killing the wrong person.

A friend comes to you with the books and CDs he borrowed..A big danger sign..
A fone call from someone about how sorry they were that they were so bad to you.
They are saying goodby. Don't miss it.

You have to embrace the person on the ledge.
"Things will get better, just talk to me for a few minutes"

I often think of an American man who killed himself in Blancerstown after getting out of my taxi.
He had lost his job and was adrift, I didn't see the danger.
A guy who once implored me to go for lunch with him because he wanted to say goodby.
He killed himself an hour later. A beautiful wife a fantastic job,the world at his feet.
I found out about his death two weeks later.
It transpired that he admired my own free spirit, I would go my own way and tell the rest to fuck off.

His death woke me up to the simple signs I now listen out for danger.
He was a really great person, wouldn't hurt a fly.

So boys and girls.
Listen out for clues.
Daddy I want to tell you something.
John can you help me with something?
Jim would you like to walk the dog with me?

Little things can mean a lot

Magic IBM ring 85 convention

I took last May day off to attend a magic convention in Dundalk Co.Louth Marc Paul was the main guest.
Remember this
"The only way to have more fun than through magic is to take your clothes off"

We nearly lost Dublins most iconic taxi driver to Bowell cancer a few weeks ago.
After an operation and a few weeks rest he is now back in the saddle.
This video was made in  2009 and they say that he was 76 then, so if I am correct he is now 94 !!!
One of the girls in the video has the most fantastic laugh.

Jonny works like no other person to make the taxi drivers special day out the success that it is.

A vampire walks the street

A shop prop

St. Thresas Gardens in the process of being flattened
He stopped me on Cork St. A poor sick junkie, I was surprised to see 2 small children with him.
He was taking the girl to the national school at the corner of Sundrive Rd.
Then"Wait for me"
He brought the girl in and then we went into St.Threasas gardens where he bought drugs.
The other kid was around 3 years old and he made his hand into a gun and shot all the drug dealers.
It seemed like he knew what was going on and he wanted to shoot them all and get his daddy back.
Then we were off again and stopped at a Centra.
"Back in a minute bud"
So I waited while €3 added themselves to the meter.
I was thinking of cutting my losses and driving away when he came out.
I said that I had given up on him as he got in.
" I wouldn't do that bud, I'm not a bad person, I am just sick.
I am going to die soon, probably before the years end.
I would like to have lived to 30 though."
God he has 2 great looking bright kids, I would have wished that things were different.

Perhaps when their father passes over they might be removed from the danger.

Every drug addict knows what is ahead of them from the first fix, in spite of this they pick up the needle and get that wonderful hit where they are transported to a beautiful peaceful heaven.
Then they find later on that they are addicts, that hit dosent come again and their lives are fucked.

A Dubliner called Bram Stoker wrote a book once called Dracula about vampires who lived on the blood of others and those that they bit into also turned into the un dead.
It is a thing that you cannot get your head around but people without a trade or profession can drift into it.
Then Doctors and Academics stick loads of cocaine up their noses as well.

A guy in the taxi said to me

"Here is my business card. When you find the solution to this, just ring me and we will travel the world.
The best brains cannot crack this one"

Sir Arnold Clark RIP

Its time to take out the lawn mower !

Looks like a prison "Pyro Villas" a terrace of houses behind other houses on Cork St.

Like a gateway to Heaven

Paul Mathew found a niche market. He moves theater acts around Ireland and England.

A few months ago the porter from the Marker hotel called me over.
A stout gent jumped in and introduced himself and we started to chat.
He had been given an award as the top car salesman in Britain, plus best after sales service and as the conversation went on he told me he had 200 garages. There was a very intense conversation about how this could be managed.

"All my staff are motivated and trained again every few months, my staff talk to each other and each one knows what is expected of them"

He popped up again in the paper today, he had died last month.

Sir Arnold Clark no less.

Last year his 200 garages sold 250,000 cars he has crash repair centers and he employed 10,000 staff.

He had a great laugh when I told him how the Irish car salespeople treat prospective clients.
"Not in my world son, no way"

The were going to Brown Thomas and we talked between ourselves while his 2 sons and daughter in law chatted in the back. The meter read €10.10 when we arrived and while he was getting out I pointed his family towards Louis Copelands shop.
"Before you go into Brown Thomas take a look in there. all good quality clothes at a better price, with no snobbery" I said.
They turned to go and Arnold came over with 2 €10 notes.
€10 is enough I said
"and a €10 tip"
We shook hands and said thank you and off we went in different directions.
No bullshit with him he was worth more than a £Billion

Click here for more, well worth a read

I told an American about him once and he told me .
In the States we have a saying,
"First you buy the man, then you buy the car"
You have to believe in the person you are dealing with.

You would really like to deal with him for sure.

So on Friday a 16 bus swung out of Ballymun Ave past a bus stop leaving 3 people standing there.
I pulled over and asked the one who had his hand out to jump in and I would put him on that bus.
At the next stop he was slow jumping out so I raced him to the next stop pulling in in front of the bus blocking it and my passenger got out and on to the bus,as the bus moved alongside me I got dogs abuse from the driver.
"I have a camera and you will hear from the Garda bud"
"So have I bud"
There are assholes all over the world.
On my own road around 7 years ago the bus driver slammed the doors shut as an ex bus driver was getting on.
The poor mans leg was inside the bus as it drove off in spite of his other passengers shouting he didn't stop until he reached the next stop.
The guy died as a result of his injuries.

So boys and girls drive away slowly, coats and scarves get caught in doors.
